What will Ulster be like in the year 2020 if current trends continue?
(Peak oil, peak resources, peak money, peak... everything!)
Plans need to be made. Priorities need to be set. Resources need to be allocated.
This is a forum to discuss what's REALLY important about how our local communities --
from hamlet-level to the entire county -- will deal with the coming
economic, energy, environmental, and civic crises already knocking at our door.

Wow, you like to write.
Well, it's not like I knocked those off all at once!
Each of those columns was written after a day or two of research and reflection, then drafting and editing. I only do one every other week.
Actually, I prefer editing to writing, but I write to keep those "mental writing muscles" limber.
Finally, for every word I WRITE, I probably READ 100 or 1000, as I'm a voracious reader, which is what led me to these concerns.
But enough about ME; what, if anything, do these ideas about peak resources mean to YOU?
What should ALL OF US be doing RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW, if this stuff is real and we are facing several imminent crises that COULD mean "The end of our way of life as we know it"?
thanks for making the font bigger
My pleasure. I hope this makes it easier to read without causing the screen to need scrolling horizontally, but that is often dependent on EACH computer, and I have no control over that.
Should anyone else have screen-related problems, please let me know.
